The Mommessin estate
At the heart of the winegrowing region of Burgundy, near Macon, is a beautiful building which once belonged to Cluny Abbey, St Peter's Barn. It was there that in 1865, Jean-Marie Mommessin founded the estate which almost 150 years later still bears his name.
Rooted in the land, from generation to generation, competition after competition, from medal to medal, the Mommessin family name is carved deep in the history of Burgundy winemaking.
Under the impetus of Didier Mommessin, the Mommessin estate maintains the family tradition in cultivating Burgundian Art, and does so with the kind of passion which gives birth to great works of art.
The Trénel estate
Maison Trénel is the latest addition to our Bourgogne range. Founded in 1928 by Claude Trénel, it is famous for its range of Beaujolais and South Burgundy wines.
The estate was managed by the Trénel until 2015 when it was bought by Michel Chapoutier, who is considered by many as one of the most successful winemakers of the last decade.
Since 2015, the Maison Trénel has been managed by Mr Chapoutier, another great connoisseur of wines. Trénel’s renown is due both to its high standards in selecting wines, choosing only those which reflect our region’s finest Terroirs.
